Answer:

(1) If the breadth is 'x'cm, the length of the field will be '2x' cm.

(2) An equation to represent the perimeter of the field =   2(2x+x)=60

(3) The exact measurement of breadth of the field = 10 cm

(4) The measurement of the length of the field = 20 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Perimeter of rectangular field = 60 cm

The length of the field is two times its breadth.

To find : The values of length and breadth

           (1) If the breadth is 'x'cm, what is the length of the field?

           (2) An equation to represent the perimeter of the field.

           (3) What is the exact measurement of breadth of the field?

            (4) What is the measurement of the length of the field?

Solution :

It is given that in a rectangular field, the length of the field is two times its breadth.

Let, the breadth of a rectangular field be x cm and

length of a field be 2x cm.

(1) If the breadth is 'x'cm, the length of the field will be '2x' cm.

(2) An equation to represent the perimeter of the field.

Perimeter of rectangular field = 60 cm

The length of the field is two times its breadth.

   ∴ The equation becomes,

       2(length+breadth) = Perimeter

                   ∴  2(2x+x)=60

(3) The exact measurement of breadth of the field

To find breadth, we have to simplify the above equation.

                  ∴  2(2x+x)=60

                        ∴ 4x+2x=60

                              ∴ 6x=60

                                ∴ x = \frac{60}{6}

                                ∴ x = 10 cm.

∴   Exact measurement of breadth of the field = 10 cm.

(4) The measurement of the length of the field

It is given that the length of the field is two times its breadth.

              ∴ Length = 2* breadth

                            =2*10

                            = 20 cm

∴ The measurement of the length of the field = 20 cm
