Answer:

Let the breadth be x cm

length=x+5 cm

perimeter =2 (l+b)=

2 (x+5+x)=4x+10 cm

4x+10=40

4x=30

x=30/4=7.5

so breadth=7.5 cm ; length=12.5 cm

area=l×b= 12.5×7.5=93.75

so area is 93.75 cm^2

thank you.

Step-by-step explanation:

let bredth of rectangle be X

then length is X+5

new increase length is X+6 and breadth is X+1.

now,

perimeter of rectangle= 2(length+bredth)

60=2(X+6+X+1)

60=4X+14

4x= 46

x= 11.5

bredth is 11.5 and length is 16.5
