Solution :-

Let us assume that, the retailer sells 100 refrigerators annually .

Case 1) :-

→ SP of Each refrigerator = Rs.6400

→ Gain = 33(1/3)% = (100/3)% = (1/3)

so,

→ CP of Each refrigerator = 6400 * (3/4) = Rs.4800 .

So,

→ Overall gain = 100 * (SP - CP) = 100 * 1600 = Rs.1,60,000

Case 2) :-

→ New Price of Each refrigerator after rise = 4800 + 700 = Rs.5500 .

→ Gain = 30%

so,

→ SP of each refrigerator = (5500 * 130)/100 = Rs.7150 .

then,

→ Gain on each refrigerator = SP - CP = 7150 - 5500 = Rs.1650 .

now,

→ Refrigerators he sells now = 10% fewer = 90% of 100 = 90 refrigerators .

then,

→ Overall gain = 90 * 1650 = Rs.1,48,500 .

therefore,

→ Decrease in annual profit = 160000 - 148500 = Rs.11500 .

hence,

→ % Decrease = (11500 * 100)/160000 = (115/16) = 7(3/16) % (Ans.)
