25,19,17,24,23,29,31,40,19,20,22,26,17,35,21

first of all arrange the marks in ascending order

17,17,19,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,29,31,35,40

Here observe that no of student off i.e. n=15

So median is n+1/2 th term i.e. middle term

median = n+1/2 th term

= 15+1/2 th term

= 16/2 th term

=8 th term

Median =23

∴ median score student marks =23
