Answer:

For A

Sum invested=Rs.16000

N.V of each share=Rs.100

M.V of each share=Rs.80

∴No.of share brought= M.Vofoneshare/investmevt

= 80/16000

=200

Rate of dividend=3%

Dividend on 1 share=3% of 100= 100/3 ×100=Rs.3

Total dividend received=200×3=Rs.600

For B

Sum invested=Rs.16000

N.V of each share=Rs.10

M.V of each share=Rs.10

∴No.of share brought= M.Vofoneshare /investmevt = 10/16000

=1600

Let the Rate of dividend received by B=x%

⇒ Dividend on each share=x% of Rs.10= 100/x ×10=Rs. 10x

Dividend on 1600 shares=1600× 10/x =Rs.160x

Since dividend received by both is same

∴160x=600

⇒x= 160/600

=3.75%
