2. draw labelled diagram of experimental setup. list two main observation.
3. write balanced chemical equation for the reaction stating the physical state of the reaction and the products.

1. Take some lead nitrate in test tube. Lead nitrate is a white coloured compound. When test tube is heated on the bunsen burner it will decompose. If heated strongly we can observe brown fumes of .
we can show decomposition by another means. If we bring a stick which has been put off after burning for a few seconds near the mouth of the test tube. The stick will start burning again. This happens due to the formation of oxygen. when the stick is brought it is already enough hot it only needs excess of oxidant which is oxygen. This helps the stick start burning again.

3. The reaction of decomposition of Lead nitrate is
2 Pb(NO3)2 (s) → 2 PbO (s) + 4 NO2 (g) + O2 (g)
we will observe that emissions of brown fumes these fumes are of nitrogen dioxide
