Given : 2 1/3  + 5 1/4

2\frac{1}{3} +5\frac{1}{4}

To Find: Evaluate final result as mixed fraction

Solution:

Mixed fraction : a\frac{b}{c}

= (a * c  +  b ) /c

2\frac{1}{3}= \frac{2\times 3+1}{3}=\frac{7}{3}

5\frac{1}{4}= \frac{5\times 4+1}{4} =\frac{21}{4}

Adding both

\dfrac{7}{3} +\dfrac{21}{4}

Taking LCM = 12

=\dfrac{28}{12} +\dfrac{63}{12}

=\dfrac{28+63}{12} =\dfrac{91}{12}

=7\frac{7}{12}

2\frac{1}{3} +5\frac{1}{4}=7\frac{7}{12}

2 1/3 + 5 1/4 = 7 7/12
