Let the original number = x

2/3 of the number = 2x/3

According to the problem given,

2/3 of the number less than the

original number by 20

x - 2x/3 = 20

( 3x - 2x )/3 = 20

x / 3 = 20

x = 20 × 3

x = 60

Therefore ,

The original number = x = 60

I hope this helps you.
