Given :- solve 2/(-5) + 11/(-15)

Answer :-

→ 2/(-5) can be written as = (-2/5)

and,

→ 11/(-15) can be written as = (-11/15)

note :- negative in denominator is same as negative in numerator .

so,

→ (-2/5) + (-11/15)

→ (-2/5) - (11/15)

taking LCM of denominator,

→ (-2 * 3 - 11)/15

→ (-6 - 11)/15

(-17/15)

 \dfrac{2}{ - 5}  +  \dfrac{11}{ - 15}

To find :

Addition of the given fraction.

Solution:

Generally, the negative sign is placed in front of the fraction.

For any numbers x and y:

 \dfrac{ - x}{y}  =  \dfrac{x}{ - y}  =  -  \dfrac{x}{y}

It won't matter whether the negative sign is in front of the numerator or the denominator.

 =  > \dfrac{ - 2}{  5}  +  \dfrac{ - 11}{  15}

LCM of 5 and 15 is 15

 =  >  \dfrac{ - 6}{15}  +  \dfrac{ - 11}{15}

 =  >  \dfrac{ - 6+ ( - 11)}{15}
