Mass of sugar (solute) = 2.5 g
Mass of water (solvent) = 18 g
Mass of solution = (2.5+18) g = 20.5 g
Concentration by mass :-
{ ( Mass of solute / Mass of solution ) × 100 } %
= { ( 2.5 / 20.5 ) × 100 } %
= 12.2 %
