Your Answer:

Given:-

  • 2/5 of people completed a race under 1 hour. And 2/5 of the runners = 48.
  • 7/24 of the runners took more than 2 hours

To Find:-

  • How many people took more than 2 hours

Solution:-

Let the numbers of runner be x

\tt So, \:According\:to\:the\:the\:Question\\\\ \tt \frac{2}{5}x=48\\\\\tt \Rightarrow x=120

So we have total number of runners = 120

Now we also have

\tt \frac{7}{24} \:of \:runners\: that\: have\: taken\: more\: than\: two\: hour

\Rightarrow\tt \frac{7}{24}x=runners \:who\:has\:taken\:more\:than\:two\:hours\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow\tt \frac{7}{24}\times 120=runners \:who\:has\:taken\:more\:than\:two\:hours\\\\ \blue \Rightarrow\tt 35=runners \:who\:has\:taken\:more\:than\:two\:hours

So, 35 runners take more than 2 hours.
