Answer:

Volume of solute= 50ml

Volume of solvent= 150ml

∴ Total volume= 150+50=200ml

Concentration= Volume of solutionVolume of solute×100

                        =20050×100

Given: Given quantities is 500 ml alcohol and 1 L water

To find: We have to find the % concentration of the solutions.

Solution:

In a solution, the substance which is dissolved is called the solute and the dissolving medium is called the solvent.

% of concentration is a ratio of the mass of solute to the mass of solution multiplied by 100. I

1 L water will be equal to 1000 ml water. So, the mass of the solution is 500+1000=1500 L. % concentration will be

 \frac{500}{1500} \times 100 = 33.33

So, the percentage of concentration is 33.33%.
