Hi ,

It is given that ,

( 2 - 7x )/( 1 - 5x ) = ( 3 + 7x )/( 4 + 5x )

Do the cross multiplication ,

( 2 - 7x )( 4 + 5x ) = ( 3 + 7x )( 1 - 5x )

2(4 + 5x)-7x(4+ 5x)=3(1-5x)+7x( 1 - 5x)

8+10x - 28x - 35x² = 3 - 15x+7x - 35x²

8 - 18x - 35x² = 3 - 8x - 35x²

8 - 18x = 3 - 8x

8 - 3 = - 8x + 18x

5 = 10x

5/10 = x

1/2 = x

Therefore ,

x = 1/2

I hope this helps you.

Hiiii friend,

(2-7X) = 3+7X
_____****____
(1-5X)*****(4+5X)

=> (4+5X)(2-7X) = (1-5X)(3+7X)

=> 4(2-7X) +5X(2-7X) = 1(3+7X)-5X(3+7X)

=> 8 - 28X + 10X - 35X² = 3 + 7X -15X - 35X²

=> -18X + 8 -35X² = 3 -8X -35X².

=> -18X +8X -35X² +35X² = 3-8

=> -10X = -5

=> X = 5/10 = 1/2.
