▪︎ 2/a + 3/b = 2.
▪︎ 4/a - 9/b = -1.
▪︎ Let 1/a be x and 1/b be y.
By putting the values in given equations we get,
=》 2x + 3y = 2. ---(1)
=》 4x - 9y = -1. ---(2)
● By Multiplying eq(1) by 2 we get,
=》 2{2x + 3y = 2}
=》 4x + 6y = 4. ---(3)
▪︎ By subtracting eq(2) from eq(3) we get,
=》 (4x+6y) - (4x-9y) = 4-(-1).
=》 4x+6y-4x+9y = 4+1.
=》 6y+9y = 5.
=》 15y = 5.
=》 y = 5/15.
▪︎ By putting the value of y in eq(3) we get,
=》 4x + 6(1/3) = 4.
=》 4x + 2 = 4.
=》 4x = 4-2.
=》 4x = 2.
=》 x = 2/4.
=》 x = 1/a.
=》 1/2 = 1/a.
▪︎ And,
=》 y = 1/b
=》 1/3 = 1/b
Therefore
▪︎ The required value of a is 2.
▪︎ The required value of b is 3.
