Answer :

average acceleration = final speed-initial speed / time taken = 6.9 - 4.1 / 5 = 2.8 / 5 = 0.56 m/s^2

 a_{avg} \:  =   \frac{ v_{2} -  v_{1} }{ t_{2} -  t_{1} }  \\  \\  =  \frac{6.9 - 4.1}{5}  =  \frac{2.8}{5}  \\  \\  = 0.56 {ms}^{2}
