. A basket contains three types of fruits weighing 58/3 kg in all. If 73/9 kg of these be apples, 19/6 kg be oranges and the rest pears. What is the weight of the pears in the basket?

• Weight of Apples = 73/9 kg
• Weight of Oranges = 19/6 kg

• Weight of Pears.

Solution :

In this question, it is given that the basket has three fruits that are apples , oranges and pears. The weight of the basket and the weight of apples and oranges are given and we have to find the weight of Pears. So simply we will add up the weight of apples and oranges after that we will subtract the weight of apples and oranges from the total weight.

Let the weight of Pears be x

According to the Question :

• Total weight of the basket = 58/3
• 73/9 + 19/6 + x = 58/3
• 8.1 + 3.16 + x = 19.33
• 11.26 + x = 19.33
• x = 19.33 - 11.26
• x = 8.07 kg

Therefore :

• Weight of Pears is 8.07kg
