Solution :-

As per the given data ,

  • Mass (m)= 5 kg
  • Force acting on the mass  (F) = 2 N
  • Initial velocity (u) = 0 m /s ( rest )
  • Time taken = 10 s

By applying newton's second law of motion ,

F = ma

On rearranging ,

⇒ a = F / m

⇒ a = 2 / 5

⇒ a = 0.4 m / s²

As the mass is moving with uniform acceleration during it's motion we can use the second equation of motion in order to find distance

we know that ,

⇒ S = ut + at² / 2

⇒ S = at ² / 2

⇒ S = 0. 4 x 100 / 2

⇒ S = 0.2 x 100

⇒ S = 20 m

The distance covered by the mass is 20 m
