Complete Question :- Taxi fare consist of a constant charge together with the charge for the distance covered. A person travelling 15 km pays Rs115 for the journey and a person travelling 27km pays Rs199 for it. A person travels a distance of 50km. The amount he has to pay .

Answer :-

Let fixed price of ride is Rs.x and charger per km is Rs.y .

so,

→ x + 15y = 115 ----------- Eqn.(1)

→ x + 27y = 199 --------- Eqn.(2)

subtracting Eqn.(1) from Eqn.(2),

→ (x + 27y) - (x + 15y) = 199 - 115

→ x - x + 27y - 15y = 84

→ 12y = 84

→ y = Rs.7

putting value of y in Eqn.(1),

→ x + 15*7 = 115

→ x = 115 - 105

→ x = Rs.10

then,

→ Total amount pay for 50 km = 10 + 50*7 = 10 + 350 = Rs.360 (Ans.)
