Magnetic monopoles (ie either a north or south pole present alone) are not possible/have not been found till date.

Based on this concept (absence of magnetic monopoles) has the Gauss law for magnetism been formulated/prooved.

Though electric monopoles (eg a positively charged body) are verymuch present.
