2. (a) The length and the breadth of a rectangle are 16 cm and 12 cm respectively. Find
(i) its perimeter, (ii) the length of its diagonal, and (iii) its area.

Then, we take a ∆BCD,

According to Pythagoras Theorem ,

BD² = BC² + CD²

BD² = 16² + 12²

BD² = 256 + 144

BD² = 400

BD = √400

BD = 20 cm

Hence

Diagonal of rectangle be = 20 cm
