From the given question the correct answer is:

the outer radius of the tire is 2.232cm or \frac{4.464}{2}cm.

Given :

inner diameter: \frac{15}{4}

thickness of the type:\frac{5}{7}

To find:

the outer radius of the tire

Solution:

we have to find outer radius of tire.

so ,

Outer Diameter = Inner diameter + Thickness of the tire

                           =\frac{15}{4} +\frac{5}{7}\\\\=\frac{105+20}{28}  \\\\=\frac{125}{28}\\\\=4.464cm

Now , from the Outer diameter we can find the outer radious.

we know that, radius= 1/2 diameter

so, outer radius

=\frac{1}{2} Outer  diameter\\\\=\frac{1}{2} \times 4.464\\\\=2.232cm

Hence , the outer radius of the tire is 2.232cm or \frac{4.464}{2}cm.

Given: radius of the tyre is 2.232 cm

  • inner diameter = \frac{15}{4}
  • the thickness of the tyre = \frac{5}{7}

To find the radius of the tyre

having a  formula for calculating the outer radius of the tyre = inner dia + thickness.

= \frac{15}{4} +\frac{5}{7}

= \frac{105+20}{28}

= \frac{125}{28}

= 4.464 cm

As we know that the radius is half of the diameter.

so,

= \frac{1}{2}*outer diameter

= 2.232 cm

therefore the radius of tyre is 2.232 cm

or \frac{4.464}{2} cm
