Answer : Relief ( land and soil ) and climate ( temperature , humidity , photoperiod and precipitation ) are the factors which are responsible for the distribution of plants and animals in India .

(ii) What is a bio - reserve ? Give two examples .

Answer: Bio-reserves are areas comprising terrestrial , marine and coastal ecosystems . Each reserves promotes solutions reconciling the conversation of biodiversity with its sustainable use .

(iii) Name two animals having habitat in the tropical and montane type of vegetation.

Answer: Animals found in tropical regions are elephants and monkeys . And animals found in montane are stag and spotted dear.
