2. Ashok while standing at a certain distance from a mirror was unable to see his image. On
moving a few steps towards the mirror he saw a large image of himself. Explain the
observation and comment on the type of mirror.

◆ Explanation -

Ashok must be using concave mirror. In concave mirror, objects seem to be larger than they really are.

Initially, Ashok may be standing between pole & principle focus of the mirror. At this position, image is formed behind the mirror & thus can't be seen.

Later when ashok backs off some steps, he is standing between principle focus & centre of curvature. Large image is formed at this point which is real & inverted.
