The sun is closest to the equator and therefore the equator gets direct sunlight from the rays of the sun which raises the temperature very high on the equator.
EXPLANATION:
- Since the earth is inclined on its axis the ‘Northern and Southern Hemispheres’ of Earth are either tilted ‘towards or away’ from the Sun.
- This results in the changing seasons at the poles.
- The sun is always directly overhead at the equator and it is at a slanting angle while facing the poles.
- The equator receives direct sunlight since it lies at a direct angle in comparison to the other parts of the planet.
