Answer:

2) If it is stored in a metallic container, naturally generated acids will react with the metal & thus the compounds of metal can cause harm to health. So pickles should not be stored in metal containers.

3) Gold and silver are used to make jewellery because they are precious and expensive metals. Also, gold and silver last very long and look luxurious. It is easier to obtain metals from their oxides rather than from carbonates or sulphides. ... A sulphide ore is converted into oxide ore by roasting.

Answer :

1) No , acids can't be stored in a metallic container because when they are allowed to do so , acids react with the metallic container walls to form any salt and liberate hydrogen gas . Moreover , overtime they corrode the metallic container .

The equation for the reaction is :

\rm Acids + Metal \longrightarrow Salt + Hydrogen\uparrow

For example :

 \rm 2HCl + Fe \longrightarrow FeCl_2 + H_2 \uparrow

2) Metals are used for making jewellery because of the following properties :

  • They are lustrous (shine) and hence are used in jewellery .
  • They are malleable and ductile i.e. can be beaten into sheets and drawn into wires .
