2. As we know that it is an isosceles triangle, both the sides will be equal. So, the altitude will perpendicularly bisect the base. Therefore perpendicularly bisect the base using compass. And make a dotted line XY.

3. Make the intersecting point of AB and XY as D.

4. From point D, make a cut on ray DX of 4 cm. And name point C.

5. now join AC and BC.
