volume of one cube=64^3

let 'a' be the side of the cube.

i;e. a^3=64

a=4 cm           (4^3=64)

since both the cubes are joined it will become a cuboid with length 8 cm(4+4=8), breadth =4 cm and height =4 cm.

now surface area of the cuboid=2(l*b+b*h+h*l)

                                                    =2(8*4+4*4+8*4)

                                                    =2(32+16+32)

                                                    =2*80

                                                   =160 cm^2

Answer: 160cm².

Step by step explanation:

Given,

Volume of both cubes = 64cm³

Volume of one cube =a³

⇒ 64 = a³

⇒ (4) = a³

⇒ a=4

We know that, when two cubes are joined they form cuboid:

Length of cuboid=4+4= 8cm

Breadth of cuboid= 4cm

Height of cuboid= 4cm

Surface area of cuboid = 2(lb+bh+lh)

2(8×4+4×4+4×8)

= 2(32+16+32)

= 2(80)

= 160cm²

Therefore, Surface area of Cuboid is 160 cm².
