2 cylindrical wires having lengths in ratio 3:1 and ratio of their masses in 1:3. Find the ratio of their resistances.

Answer:

Resistance of a wire is given as AρL

This is the same as A×LρL2=VρL2

So, resistance is proportional to ML2

The ratio of resistances is,

125:39:51=125:15:1
