The Central Highland is the land between the north and south part of India in an elevated position. The central highland covers the Indian states of Rajastan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and bounded by the Aravalli Ranges, the eastern highlands, Narmada River, Deccan Plateau and the Northern Plains of India.

Aravallli ranges are the most important part of the central highlands and so the river Narmada. Some other features of the central highlands of India are

The Vindhyan Ranges

Malwa Plateau

Satpura Ranges

The Chhotanagpur Plateau

Karbi-Meghalaya Plateau
