A Marginal information are the peripheral information on the edge of the map that provides useful information about the map to the map user. Scale Note. The Scale Note is a representative fraction, which gives the ratio of map distance to the corresponding distance on the earth surface.

B Contour lines and their shapes represent the height and slope or gradient of the landform. Closely spaced contours represent steep slopes while widely spaced contours represent gentle slope. When two or more contour lines merge with each other, they represent features of vertical slopes such as cliffs or waterfalls.
