l' is the required line which is parallel to the line AB at and at a distance of 4 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

steps:

(1) draw a line l . take a pint P on the line l and a point C outside the line at a distance  of 4 cm from the line .

(2) join C and P.

(3) talking P as  center with a convenient radius , draw an arc intersecting line l at a point D and PC at a point E .

(4) taking C as a center and with the same radius as before, draw an arc FG intersecting PC at H .

(5) Adjust the compass upto the length DE . without changing the opening of a compass a taking H as a center , draw an arc to intersect the previously drawn arc FG at point I .

(6) join the points C and I  to draw a line l'.

(7) This is the required line which is parallel to the line AB at and at a distance of 4 cm.

similarly

we draw the lines parallel at a distance of (b) 6 cm and (c) 6.5 cm

(b) take the a point C outside the line at a distance  of 6 cm from the line .

(c)take the a point C outside the line at a distance  of 6.5 cm from the line .
