Given :-

  • Jared has worked 70 hours this summer.
  • He plans to work 2.5 hours in each of the coming days.
  • Clementine just started working and plans to work 5 hours a day in the coming days.

To Find :-

  • How long it will be before they will have worked the same number of hours ?

Solution :-

Given that, jarad has already worked for 70 hours.

Now,

→ Jarad work in one day = for 2.5 hours .

Let after x days they worked same number of hours.

So,

in x day jarad work = x * 2.5 = for 2.5 hours.

Than,

Jarad total time = 70 hours + 2.5x hours = (70 + 2.5x) Hours.

Now, we have given that, Clementine just started working and plans to work 5 hours a day in the coming days.

So,

in one day Clementine work for = 5 hours.

Than,

in x days , Clementine work for = 5 * x = 5x hours.

A/q,

70 + 2.5x = 5x

→ 5x - 2.5x = 70

→ 2.5x = 70

→ x = 28.

Hence, after 28 days they will have worked the same number of hours..
