They will be a resented by oppression and also by the revenue officials, police officers and money lenders, sometimes even landlords and declar themselves to be independent under the leadership of Sido and Kanhu.

Their motive was basically to remove the British and all the outsiders from Santhal areas. This has later led to the rise of the Santhal rebellion of 1854.
