Answer:

The mixture of water, carbon tetrachloride and ethanol is separated by using separating funnel. In separating funnel water-ethanol mixture forms upper layer and carbon tetrachloride - water mixture forms lower layer. Carbon tetrachloride can be removed first and then water is collected in separate container. Finally these two can be seperated one by one by using either distillation for ethanol water mixture or by filtration of CCl4 water mixture.
