Answer:

Given :-

A =x saplings

B = x-5 saplings

C= x+5 saplings

A + B+C= 4x-100

solution :-

x + (x -5) + (x+5) = 4x-100

3x = 4x-100

3x-4x = -100

-x = -100

x=100

A = 100 saplings

B = (100 - 5= 95 saplings )

C = (100+5=105 saplings )

Answer:

No. of saplings planted by A = x

No. of saplings planted by B = x - 5

No. of saplings planted by B = x + 5

Total no. of saplings planted = 4x - 100

Total no. of saplings planted = No. of saplings planted by A + No. of saplings planted by B + No. of saplings planted by C

.°. 4x - 100 = x + x - 5 + x + 5

.°. 4x -(x + x + x) = 100 + 5 - 5

.°. 4x - 3x = 100

.°. x = 100

No. of saplings planted by B = x - 5

= 100 - 5

= 95

No. of saplings planted by C = x + 5

= 100 + 5

= 105

Total no. of saplings planted = 4x - 100

= 4(100) - 100

= 400 - 100

= 300
