here,

a+B= 1/4 and a×B= -1

we know,

the formula for forming a quadratic polynomial=

x^2-(a+B)x+aB= 0

x^2-1/4x-1=0

now,

multiplying both sides of polynomial by 4,

4x^2-x-4= 0.....final quadratic polynomial
