<1 + y = 180° eq(1). (linear pair of angles)

<1 = x eq(2). (opposite angles of equal sides of a triangle)

by eq(1) and (2)

x + y = 180° eq(3)

In ∆PQR,

x + <1 + 90° = 180°. (angle sum property of ∆)

x + x = 90°

2x = 90°

x = 45°

and, x + y = 180°

45° + y = 180°

y = 180° - 45°

y = 135°

so, x = 45°

y = 135°
