2. Find p(3), p(0) and p(-2) for the polynomials
(i) x2 + 7
(ii) 3x - 1​

Answer:-

(i) p(x) = x² + 7

p(3) = (3)² + 7

= 9 + 7

= 16

p(0) = (0)² + 7

= 0 + 7

= 7

p(-2) = (-2)² + 7

= 4 + 7

= 11

(ii) p(x) = 3x - 1

p(3) = 3 × (3) - 1

= 9 - 1

= 8

p(0) = 3 × (0) - 1

= 0 - 1

= -1

p(-2) = 3 × (-2) - 1

= -6 - 1

= -7
