Total area of square= 14²= 196 cm²

Now, area of two semicircles....

= 2 × 1/2× πr²

after simplifying,

= πr²

=22/7× 7² [ r= 1/2 of square side because it's also the diameter of circle]

= 154 cm²

Now area of the shaded region,

= ar of square- ar of two semicircles

= 196-154

=42 cm² is the area of shaded region...
