2. From a well-shuffled deck of 52 cards, one card is drawn at random. What is the probability that the card drawn is (i) a black ace (ii) a face card (iii) a diamond (iv) a number card (v) a red card ?

Answer:

(i) probability that the card drawn is a black ace = 2/56

                                                                                = 1/28

(ii) probability that the card drawn is a face card = 12/56

                                                                                = 3/14

(iii) probability that the card drawn is a diamond = 13/56

                                                                               

(iv) probability that the card drawn is a number card = 36/56

                                                                                       = 9/14

(v) probability that the card drawn is a red card = 26/56

                                                                               = 13/28
