The smell of hot sizzling food
reaches you several metres
away, but to get the smell from
cold food you have to go close.​

Answer:

It is because of diffusion.

When food is hot it's smell diffuses with air very fast while in cold food there are no vapours which are flowing in air so we have to go close to smell

THIS IS DUE TO DIFFUSION .IN HOT FOOD DIFFUSION IS FASTER . IN COLD FOOD DIFFUSION IS SLOWER . THEREFORE WE GET THE SMELL OF HOT SIZZLING FOOD REACHES US SEVERAL METERS AWAY BUT TO GET THE SMELL FROM COLD FOOD WE HAVE TO GO NEARER .
