Answer:

CNG=Compressed Natural Gas.

CNG=Compressed Natural Gas. LPG :- Liquefied Petroleum Gas

~Advantage and disadvantages

1. CNG is made/obtained from oil wells/ fields and sometime from coal bed methane wells but LPG is directly obtained as a by-product during the refining process of petroleum oil.

2. CNG is mainly composed of methane whereas LPG is a mixture of propane, propylene, butane, and butylene in definite proportion. Since CNG mainly consist of methane, it is lighter than normal air whereas LPG is way heavier than normal air.

3. When CNG is burn, it releases very less amount of Greenhouse gases where LPG releases large amount of carbon dioxide.

4. LPG has higher calorific value which is 94 MJ/m3 or 26.1kWh/m3 whereas CNG has a calorific value of 38 MJ/m3 or 10.6 kWh/ m3.

Answer:

CNG is compressed natural gas and LPG is liquefied petroleum gas. Common things between both CNG and LPG are as follows.

Both CNG and LPG have alkane in common.

Both are fuel.

Both have a calorific value. The calorific value of LPG is higher that CNG.

CNG and LPG are gases at normal atmospheric pressures and standard temperatures.
