✯ Answer :
- Perpendicular = 16 cm.
✯ Given :
- Base = 12 cm
- hypotenuse = 20 cm
✯ To find :
- Perpendicular
✯ Solution :
Using Pythagoras theorem,
(hypotenuse)² = (Base)² + (Perpendicular)²
[Substituting the value of hypotenuse and base]
➪ (20)² = (12)² + (Perpendicular)²
➪ 400 = 144 + (Perpendicular)²
➪ (Perpendicular)² = 400 - 144
➪ Perpendicular = 256
➪ Perpendicular = √256
➪ Perpendicular = ±16
We know that, length can't be negative.
.°. Length of the perpendicular = 16 cm.
