A balanced chemical equation is a chemical equation in which the number of atoms in the reactant and product is same.
A chemical reaction should be balanced because an atom can not be created nor be destroyed in a chemical reaction so to show that there is nothing wrong in a reaction so it's compulsory to balance it.
Ex:
H2 + O2 ---› H2O (Unbalanced)
2H2 + O2 ---› 2H2O (balanced)
