The speech can start with a few sentences about the evolution of science.

The approach is: Past, Present & Future.

Introduction: The way science has evolved, especially since Newton and then the present scenario.

Body: The rate at which we are going,Moore's Law says our laptops will start calculating at the speed of an average human brain by 2025. Which means laptop can do anything a human can do, the birth of AI.

In the field of space exploration, the future is the Solar System, starting with Mars.

Medicine: All the research being done on genetic modifications to increase the life span of human beings, making 100 the new 60 (search for Peter Diamandis for more info on this).

Then the topics mentioned by other answers.

Conclusion: End by saying that the future is bright as always. With the way we are going, I am positive that the day is not far when life, the way we see it, will be changed for good!

Science and technology are interrelated . as science progresses technology advances , growth in technology is an indicator of development of science . advanced technology has made our lives more comfortable than ever , refrigerator, air conditioners , mobile , computers , television , they are the boons of technology , imagine a rocket reaching to mars , and the level of modern technology and sciences working on it . as humans have gradually developed sciences like mechanics . medical , botanical , etc. It becomes as a key for technology to advance . but one thing has to be remembered science and technology do have hazardous and disastrous uses as well . which has been highlighted by all these wars , bomb explosions . modern artillerists. So as long as used for good purpose , no one can dare ask for a even better of science and technology . where science develops so technology develops but not necessarily vise versa . this can be learnt from the fact that questions are developed from theory and not theory is developed from questions or even answers.
