2.Mr Ahuja is willing to purchase a plot. He goes to the property dealer. Property

dealer suggests him a plot whose length is 8m more then it’s width and the

perimeter of the plot is 76 m.



(a)Assuming the width of a plot be ‘x’ m, frame a linear equation in one variable.

(2 Marks)



(b) Find the length and width of the plot.

(2 Marks)



(C) Find the area of the plot in square meter​

Solution :-

Let width od the flot is x m .

so,

→ Length of plot = (x + 8) m

then,

→ Perimeter of plot = 2(length + breadth)

→ 2(x + x + 8) = 76

→ 2x + 8 = 38 (linear equation in one variable.)

→ 2x = 38 - 8

→ 2x = 30

→ x = 15

therefore,

→ width of plot = 15 m

→ Length of plot = 15 + 8 = 23 m

hence,

→ Area of plot = Length * Breadth = 15 * 23 = 345
