Hey there.

You have to find the mass defect ∆m of the reaction. If the mass of reacta is greater than the mass of product then energy is released in accordance with Einstein's mass - energy equivalence. i.e.

∆m = mass of reactants - mass of products.

and Energy Q = ∆mc²
