Salt dissolves in water. But as salt is constantly added to the water, at some point salt appears at the bottom of the vessel. This is because the salt solution has become a saturated solution .i.e. the water cannot dissolve any more salt. Hence the remaining salt appears at the bottom of the container.

A saturated solution is a solution that contains the maximum amount of solute that is capable of being dissolved.

Unsaturated Solution :

An unsaturated solution is a solution that contains less than the maximum amount of solute that is capable of being dissolved.
