2a) Mesopotamia, the area between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers , is often        referred to as the cradle of civilization because it is the first place where complex urban centers grew.

c)A plateau which is enclosed or surrounded by mountain ranges is known as an intermontane plateau. The Plateau of Tibet and the Plateau of Mongolia are the two intermontane plateaus in Asia.
