If these are the triplet then the sum of the square of two number is equal to the square of third number.

  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  {8}^{2}  +   {15}^{2}  =  {17}^{2}  \\  = >  64 + 225 =289 \\  = >  289 = 289

Hence, the triplet (8,15,17) is Pythagorean triplet.
